Sergeant Major Pacheco

Sergeant Major Pacheco enlisted in the Marine Corps May of 2003. She attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina and graduated September 2003. Upon graduation Private Pacheco completed Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry Camp Geiger, Jacksonville, North Carolina and proceeded to Marine Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. There she earned the MOS of 3432, Finance Technician and was promoted to Private First Class.

Upon completion of school, Private First Class Pacheco reported for duty to Marine Corps Mobilization Command in December, 2003. While at MOBCOM, she was promoted to Lance Corporal in July, 2004, and Corporal in May, 2005.  She was selected for and served on the MOBCOM Funeral Honors Detail from January, 2004 till May, 2007.

Corporal Pacheco was then reassigned to 1st MLG, Camp Pendleton, CA in July, 2007. She was promoted to Sergeant in November of 2007.  She was then deployed to Iraq in Support of Operation Iraq Freedom from July, 2008 through February, 2009.  Sergeant Pacheco served as the Disbursing Operations Chief for Al Asad and six outlying Forward Operating Bases and as Disbursing NCOIC at Camp Korean Village.  While assigned to Camp Pendleton, she served as Pay Reports NCOIC and Pay Reports Auditor.

In October, 2009, Sergeant Pacheco reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina for Drill Instructor duty. Upon completion of school, she was assigned to the 4th Recruit Training Battalion as a Drill Instructor for Oscar Company and November Company.  She was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in May of 2011.  During her tour, Staff Sergeant Pacheco held the billets of Drill Instructor, Experienced Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor. 

After a successful tour on the Drill Field, Staff Sergeant Pacheco was reassigned in September 2012 to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego Finance Office as the Travel and Defense Travel System Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge.  Staff Sergeant Pacheco held numerous billets to include Uniformed Victim Advocate, Security Augmentation Force Platoon Sergeant, and Combat Conditioning Instructor.   Staff Sergeant was also selected as a member of the All Marine Running Team and still competes with them today. 

Staff Sergeant Pacheco was selected and moved to fill the billet of Company Gunnery Sergeant for Headquarters Company, Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in September of 2014. 

In April of 2015, Staff Sergeant Pacheco reported to Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Okinawa, Japan for duty as a faculty advisor.  December 1, 2015, she was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and became the Chief Faculty Advisor for the Career Course.

In August of 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Pacheco was selected to stand up the Force Fitness Program, a new initiative from the Commandant of the Marines Corps, and received orders to the Force Fitness Readiness Center in Quantico, VA. While at the Force Fitness Readiness Center, she served as the Chief Instructor the Force Fitness Program.

In June of 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Pacheco was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company as the Company First Sergeant.  She was promoted to her current rank in February of 2019.

First Sergeant Pacheco was transferred to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in April of 2019.  She was assigned to 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment as a Battery First Sergeant.  She served as the Battery First Sergeant for Battery B, Headquarters Battery, and was selected to serve as Battery R First Sergeant, the first HIMARS Battery Organic to 2d Marine Division.

In December of 2021, First Sergeant Pacheco was transferred to Joint Base Fort Myer-Henderson Hall and served as the First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Battalion.  In February of 2023 she was promoted to her current rank and assigned to Marine Corps Base Hawaii as the Sergeant Major for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24

Sergeant Major Pacheco’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars in lieu of third award and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.
