Brig. Gen. James B. Hecker speaks to Lance Cpl. Stosh K. Fernandez Nov. 7 at Kadena Air Base. While running the Kadena Half Marathon, Fernandez performed CPR on a community member and carried him to an ambulance. Hecker is the commander of the 18th Wing, 5th Air Force and Fernandez is an expeditionary air field technician with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
