Sergeant Major Tueichi was born on 3 September 1972 in American Samoa. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1991 and attended basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), San Diego.
In April of 1992, he reported to the School of Infantry in Camp Pendleton, CA. Upon completion of Infantry school, he reported for duty with Company B, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines at MCAGCC 29 Palms.
After his tour at 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, SgtMaj Tueichi received orders to Marine Security Guard duty in January of 1996, where he served as a watch stander in West Africa, Europe, and Central America.
Upon completion of his tour on Marine Security Guard duty in February of 2000, he received orders to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During this period, he completed numerous deployments to include a tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in March 2003.
Upon returning from Iraq, SgtMaj Tueichi received orders to Drill Instructor school in January of 2004. During his tour at MCRD San Diego, he was assigned as a Drill instructor, Senior Drill instructor and Chief Drill instructor.
After his tour as a Drill instructor, in January 2007, he received orders and reported to Camp Pendleton, CA, as Company First Sergeant at 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division.
In June of 2009, he received orders and reported to Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, Region 4, Fort Lauderdale, Florida as the Region First Sergeant.
Selected to his present rank, SgtMaj Tueichi received orders to VMGR-252 at Cherry Point as the Sergeant Major. On December of 2013, SgtMaj Tueichi received orders to VMM-261 as the Sergeant Major of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261.
SgtMaj Tueichi’s personal decorations include three Meritorious Service Medals, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and a Combat Action Ribbon.
