First Sergeant
SSgt William M. Taylor

 

William Taylor was born in Frederick, Maryland in 1989.   He graduated from Fredrick High School in Frederick, Maryland with the class of 2007. In February of 2009, he reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island to start his Marine Corps career.  Upon graduating from boot camp, Private Taylor attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina.  He was then transferred to Enlisted Basic Supply Course in Camp Johnson, North Carolina. He was promoted to the rank of Private First Class on August 1st 2009. Upon completion of this training, Private First Class Taylor was assigned the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 3043 Supply Administration and Operations Clerk.

Private First Class Taylor reported to, Head Quarters and Service Company, Marine Air Support Squadron 2, Okinawa, Japan in October of 2009 where he served as the Fiscal Clerk and Personnel Effects Custodian.  On April 1st 2010, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In September 2011, Lance Corporal Taylor reported to Head Quarters and Service Company, Marine Barracks Washington, Washington D.C. known as “8th & I” it is the oldest post in the Marine Corps. While his time there he serve as the Fiscal Clerk and also served on the Dignified Transfer Team. In December 2011 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Corporal Taylor then reported to Enlisted Supply Intermediated Course on Camp Johnson, North Carolina.    

In December 2013 Corporal Taylor reported to 25th Marine Regiment, Fort Devens, Massachusetts where he served as the Supply Administration Chief. In April 1st 2013 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In December 2014 Sergeant Taylor took over as the Regimental Supply Chief. During his time at 25th Marine Regiment he served in various operations to include Heavy Metal 2014, African Lion 2015, ITX 2015 and African Lion 2017. He also participated in Toys for Tots, assisted in numerous funerals across the community and was part of the Color Guard. Sergeant Taylor completed Sergeants Course September 2016. In November 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Just before receiving orders to 3rd Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 35. 

In April 2018 Staff Sergeant Taylor reported to Head Quarters Company, 3rd Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3rd Marine Logistic Group where he served as the Organic Supply Chief. In August 2019 Staff Sergeant Taylor received orders to Personnel Support Detachment 18, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing where he currently serves as the Marine Air Control Group 18 Supply Chief, Unit Transition Coordinator and the Personnel Support Detachment 18 Company First Sergeant.  Staff Sergeant completed Staff Sergeant School November 2020. He is currently waiting to attend Basic Recruiter Course 6-20 in Aug 2021. Staff Sergeant Taylor personal decorations are the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one Gold Star.

Staff Sergeant Taylor is married to Stephany Rodriguez from Mission, Texas. She works at the School Age Center on Camp Kinser, Okinawa Japan as the Program Technician. They have one son, Theodore Francis (10 Months).
