Major Judah M. Begab

Major Judah Begab is a native of Burke, VA.  Major Begab graduated and commissioned in June 2010 from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and reported to The Basic School in December. Upon completion in July 2011, he reported to Marine Air Training Support Group-21 in Pensacola, FL for flight training with VT-2 and HT-18 and promoted to First Lieutenant in 2012. He was designated a Naval Aviator in November 2013 at VT-35 with future assignment as a MV-22B pilot at MCAS New River, Jacksonville, NC.

In December 2013, 1st Lt Begab reported to Fleet Replacement Squadron VMM(T)-204 at MCAS New River, NC for initial training in the MV-22B. Upon completion in April 2014, he reported to VMM-266 at MCAS New River and filled the billet of Embarkation Officer and promoted to Captain on 1 July 2014. Captain Begab served with VMM-266 during SPMAGTF-CR-AF 15.2, 17.1 and 19.1 During the rest of his time at VMM-266, he served also as the Flight Equipment Officer, Adjutant, S-1 OIC, Future Operations Officer and the Director of Safety and Standardization.

Captain Begab reported to Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1) in June 2019. In 2020, he was selected to be a White House Liaison Officer (WHLO) at HMX-1, executing advanced planning and integration with White House Military Office and US Secret Service entities for Presidential and heads of state movements. He participated in two international and 35 domestic Presidential Missions. He was promoted to Major in June 2020.

In June 2022, Major Begab reported to VMM-363 at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, HI as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer from June 2022-November 2023 deploying as the ACE Aircraft Maintenance Officer for MRF-D 23-2 April-October 2023 supporting multiple exercises.  Upon return from the deployment, Major Begab assumed the rolls of VMM-363 Executive Officer. 

Major Begab’s personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Presidential Service Badge.
