Major Lee enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 2001 out of Flushing Queens NY.
His first tour was to MALS-24 MCB Hawaii as a CH-53 T-64 Engine Mechanic. During this tour, he completed back-to-back UDP tours to Okinawa, and deployed with HMM-265 as part of the ACE for the 31st MEU aboard the USS Essex.
In 2004, he reported to Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command in Hickam AFB, Hawaii where he completed missions in Laos, Korea, Vietnam, and Fiji to recover remains of fallen US service members.
Upon completion of that tour, he performed a lateral move to Signals Intelligence and conducted a PCA to 3rd Radio Battalion at MCB Hawaii in 2006. During this tour he was selected for MECEP and departed for Miami University of Ohio in 2008. Post school completion, Maj Lee checked into MALS-24 in 2012 where he completed assignments as a division officer, legal officer, and maintenance material control officer for HMH-463.
In 2015, he reported to MARCENT Coordination Element in Bahrain as the Operations Officer. During this tour he deployed to support Theater Security Cooperation events in Kazakhstan; Operation Inherent Resolve in the CAOC; and Eager Lion in Jordan.
He checked into MALS-26 at MCAS New River, NC in 2016 as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer. During this time, he led the first mid-deployment aircraft inspection aboard the USS Wasp in the Libyan Coast during Operation Odessey Lightening as well as successfully completing an Emergency Reclamation mission in the Horn of Africa, Djibouti. He also completed a tour as the Staff Secretary for the 2nd MAW Commanding General.
In 2018, Maj Lee checked into MALS-49 at Stewart AB Newburgh, NY as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance officer and eventually took the reigns as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer. His follow-on assignment in 2020 was to Camp Humphreys, South Korea to serve as the US Forces Korea, Theater Watch Chief, J33 coordinating the execution of multiple Crisis Action Teams in response to North Korean provocations, providing the USFK/CFC/UNC Commander response options in line with the operational plans of the theater.
In 2022, Maj Lee checked into 1st Marine Aircraft Wing to serve as the Plans Officer for the Aviation Logistics Department leading and developing many initiatives for AVLOG in the FIC and expanding capabilities to meet challenges of operating in the INDOPACOM theater. He completed his Wing tour by serving as the Staff Secretary for the 1st MAW Commanding General.
As of October 2024, Major Lee assumed the duties of the Executive Officer for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36 at MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan.
Major Lee’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2x Gold Stars), Joint Service Achievement Medal (1x Oak Leaf), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2x Gold Stars), Good Conduct Medal (2x Bronze Stars).
