Maj Emma C. Tucker

Major Emma C. Tucker was born 1 September 1982, in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in June of 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Behavioral Science, she was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. 

After finishing the course of instruction at The Basic School, Major Tucker was sent to Air Support Control Officer Course, in Twenty-Nine Palms California where she was designated a 7208.

Upon graduation, in April of 2006, she was assigned to Marine Air Support Squadron (MASS) 2, Marine Air Control Group (MACG) 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) where she held billets including: Air Support Controller for the 31st MEU, Air Support Element Officer-in-Charge for the 31st MEU, and MASS-2 liaison officer to the 607th Air Support Operations Group at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. Additionally, while at MASS-2 she obtained a Master’s of Science in Sport Psychology from Capella University.

In April of 2008, Major Tucker checked into MASS-3, MACG-38, 3rd MAW. She subsequently deployed as a Senior Air Director to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), from July 2008 to February 2009. Upon return Major Tucker attended the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course 2-09 in Yuma, Arizona. She then served as the Weapons and Tactics Training Program Officer for MASS-3 until deploying as the Direct Air Support Center Officer-in-Charge for Operation Enduring Freedom from March 2010 to March 2011.  

In May of 2011, Major Tucker checked into Headquarters 44 Wing, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Williamtown. While serving as an exchange officer, she was selected by the RAAF to deploy as their Airspace Control Element Officer-in-Charge for Combined Team Uruzghan in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan between January and April 2013. Prior to deployment, Major Tucker achieved qualification as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller.


In July of 2014, Major Tucker, reported to Marine Corps Command and Staff College at Quantico, VA from which she was a distinguished graduate and obtained a Master’s degree with distinction in Military Studies. 


In July of 2015, Major Tucker reported to MASS-2, MACG-18, 1st MAW where she served as the Operations Officer, until she was selected and assumed the duties of the 1st MAW Staff Secretary in June of 2016.  In June of 2017, she rejoined MASS-2 and is currently serving as their Executive Officer.
