Major Trevor W. Sewell
Executive Officer Marine Wing Support Squadron 171

Major Sewell enlisted in the Marine Corps in July of 2007 and completed training as a 6541 Aviation Ordnance Systems Technician in 2008 before being assigned to MALS-41 at NAS JRB Ft. Worth, TX.  During this tour, Lance Corporal Sewell served as a repair technician on the M61-A1 machine gun for the F/A-18.

 

Lance Corporal Sewell entered the Platoon Leaders Course in 2009, commissioned in May 2011, and attended The Basic School class 2-12.  First Lieutenant Sewell was designated a Naval Aviator on 8 August 2014, and was selected to fly the CH-53E at MCAS New River, NC.

 

In April 2015, First Lieutenant Sewell began his tenure with the Condors of HMH-464 and promoted to Captain in November of that year. Captain Sewell served with the Condors in multiple billets including operations, safety, logistics, communications, and intelligence. He deployed with the Condors in support of Operation Cold Response in 2016. In 2017, Captain Sewell joined VMM-162 (rein) and served in operations for the composite squadron’s deployment with the 26 MEU in 2018.

 

In the summer of 2019, Captain Sewell assumed the duties of Aviation Assistant for Officer Procurement at the 12th Marine Corps District, on MCRD, San Diego.  Promoted to his current rank in July 2021, Major Sewell lead recruitment efforts of future Marine Officers in California, Western Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and the Pacific Islands.

 

Major Sewell assumed his current duties as the Executive Officer of MWSS-171 aboard MCAS Iwakuni in August 2022.

 

Major Sewell is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School as well as the USMC Command and Staff College. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Texas and an MBA with an emphasis on Strategic Leadership from New England College.

 

Major Sewell is married to the former Tiffany Joy Burnside of Denton, Texas.  They have three children, Isabella Joy, Lincoln Wayne, and Magnolia Claire.
