Cpl Carrion

Corporal Dwayne A. Carrion was born in Brooklyn, New York.  He graduated from high school in Elizabethtown, NC in June 2010.  Recognizing the unique job opportunities, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Operations Specialist.  In February 2012, he reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC to begin Recruit Training with 1st Battalion, Charlie Company, Platoon 1036.  There he served as the Platoon Guide, graduated as the Platoon Honor Graduate and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class in May 2012.  Upon graduation, Private First Class Carrion reported to School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training (MCT).  Following successful completion of MCT in June 2015, he reported to Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron 1, Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi to attend the Marine Aviation Operations Specialist Course.

In October 2012, Private First Class Carrion reported for duty at Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Current Operations Clerk, G-3.  He was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in January 2013.  In February 2013, Lance Corporal Carrion deployed to Thailand in support of Exercise Cobra Gold 13 where he served as the Marine Forces Operations Chief.  Upon return from Thailand, Lance Corporal Carrion deployed to Osan AB, South Korea in March 2013 in support of Exercise Key Resolve 13, where he served as the Wing Operations Center Non-Commissioned Officer.  In June 2013, Lance Corporal Carrion was selected to serve as the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing G-3 Training Non-Commissioned Officer.  In August 2013, LCpl Carrion was hand-picked to deploy, again, to Osan AB, South Korea, as a member of the Air Tasking Order Production Cell in support of Exercise Ulchi Freedom Guardian 13.  Lance Corporal Carrion served as the 1ST Marine Aircraft Wing G-3 Training Non-Commissioned Officer and in the absence of the Training Chief he held the billet of 1ST Marine Aircraft Wing G-3 Training Chief.  He was then promoted to the rank of E-4 a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps.  Shortly after that he was handpicked out of the squadron by the CO of MWHS-1 LtCol Ebitz to be the voice of the unit by becoming the Single Marine Program President for MWHS-1.  Due to Corporal Carrions MOS knowledge, professionalism, and constant dedication to mission accomplishment he was handpicked to serve as the Korean Theater of Operations NCOIC.  In August 2014 Corporal Carrion will once again deploy to North Korea ISO Ulchi Freedom Guardian 14 to be the ATO Production NCOIC.

Corporal Carrion’s personal decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Korean Defense Service Medal.
