Lieutenant Colonel Ronald J. Eavers II
Marine Aircraft Group 36 Executive Officer

          LtCol Eavers enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in December of 2001 where he served as a Military Police Officer with Military Police Company C located in Dayton, OH. He deployed to Iraq in March of 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and retuned back to Dayton, OH in October 2003. He subsequently returned to Iraq in February of 2004 where his unit was attached to 7th Marines in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II and during this time was promoted to the rank of Corporal.

           LtCol Eavers returned from Iraq in October of 2004 and enrolled at The Ohio State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management. In 2005 he was accepted into the Platoon Leaders Class Program and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in March 2007. He attended The Basic School in June of 2007 where he finished in the top 5% of his class and was awarded the Marine Corps Association Leadership Award.

           In the January of 2008 he reported to MATSG-21 in Pensacola, Florida to begin flight training and was designated as a Naval Aviator in December of 2009. LtCol Eavers checked into VMMT-204 in January of 2010 to begin his initial training on the MV-22 and was ultimately designated a Tiltrotor Second Pilot in July of 2010.

           LtCol Eavers then proceeded to MCAS Miramar in August 2010 where he served as the S-4, S-5, and S-6 officer. He deployed with the squadron to Afghanistan in July of 2012 and returned in February 2013. After the squadron returned, he was designated as a Night Systems Instructor and attended the 1-14 Weapons and Tactics Instructor course. He served as the Pilot Training Officer and deployed with the squadron in May 2015 with the 15th MEU. After the squadron returned in December of 2015 LtCol Eavers reported to NAS Whiting Field to serve as a T-6B flight instructor with the Red Knights of VT-3. During this time, he served as the Senior Marine, Training Officer, Standardization Officer and the CNATRA Visual Navigation Stage Manager. 

          LtCol Eavers transferred to MCAS Futenma in April 2018 where he served with MAG-36 as the Future Operations Officer from April 2018 to July 2019. In July 2019 he joined the Tigers of VMM-262 as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer. During his tour with the Tigers, the squadron participated in several bilateral exercises in Japan and the Philippines. The squadron assumed the role of the ACE for the 31st MEU and subsequently deployed on the 20.2 and 21.1 patrols. LtCol Eavers left the Tigers in May 2021 and reported to Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources as an aviation analyst.  LtCol Eavers executed orders to MAG-36 in June of 2023 and currently serves as the MAG-36 Executive Officer.

          LtCol Eavers’ personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, the Air Medal with bronze numeral 2, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Achievement Medal with two gold stars and the Combat Action Ribbon.
