Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (VMM-262) participate in a change of command ceremony May 3rd, 2019 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. The ceremony represents the transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from the outgoing commanding officer, Lt. Col. Garth W. Burnett, to the incoming commanding officer, Lt. Col. Jordan W. Vannatter.

An MV-22B Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 262 takes off during exercise KAMANDAG 3 near Subic Bay, Philippines, Oct. 12, 2019. The United States is proud to participate in this Philippine-led, bilateral exercise in order to develop capabilities across a wide range of military operations. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.

The GTR exercise is designed to help Marines develop tactical maneuvering techniques, improving interoperability between USMC and Philippine Marine Corps forces.
