conduct air reconnaissance, electronic warfare, antiair warfare, offensive air support, control of aircraft and missiles, and assault support from advanced bases, expeditionary bases or the sea base supported by organic aviation logistics and aviation ground support logistics as required by III MEF and United States Pacific Command and be prepared to conduct such support and engagement operations as may be directed.
Colonel Brannon is from Lubbock, Texas and was commissioned through the Platoon Leaders Class program in 1996 after earning a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was designated a Naval Aviator in 1999 and completed F/A-18 training at VFA-125 in 2000.

Upon graduation, he attended Marine Combat Training and then proceeded to Marine Corps Engineer School, Court House Bay, Camp Lejeune, NC to Utilities Instruction Company.
