Major Joshua E. Langham enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 2004. Upon completion of Marine Corps Recruit Training, Marine Combat Training, and Avionics Technician Training he was assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadrons 115, 122, and 224 in Beaufort, South Carolina where he served as a technician and collateral duty inspector in the avionics shop. He was then selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program and attended school at the University of Houston from August 2007 to August 2010 where he was recognized as an Academic All-American, graduated with honors, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Health.
Major Langham was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in August 2010. Upon graduation from The Basic School and the Marine Air Traffic Controller Officers Course, he was assigned to Marine Air Control Squadron 2, Detachment Alpha in Beaufort, South Carolina. During this tour, he served as a Facility Watch Officer, an ATC Watch Commander, and the Detachment Commander. During his tenure at MACS-2, his detachment supported Marine ATC Operations around the world in support of Special Purpose MAGTF-Central Command, including stateside exercises in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, Arizona, and California.
In June 2015, Major Langham reported to NROTC Houston Consortium and served as the Marine Officer Instructor. During this assignment he held credentials as an adjunct professor at four universities, served as the command’s Operations Officer, Safety Officer, Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection Officer, and assistant Legal Officer. Additionally, during the summer months, Major Langham served as a Platoon Commander for the Marine Corps Officer Candidates School and as a Staff Officer for Career Orientation Training of Midshipmen East.
In June 2018, Major Langham reported to Quantico, Virginia for attendance at the USMC Expeditionary Warfare School as a resident student and graduated in May 2019. In addition to the resident curriculum, Major Langham was a graduate of Dr. Williamson Murray’s Seminar on War, Strategy and Military History, he also served as the International Officer Sponsor to the Mexican Marine Corps and was an active member in the Quatrefoil Society.
In July 2019, Major Langham reported to the Marine Air Control Group 18 in Okinawa, Japan and served as the Future Operations Officer for a period of two years. In April 2021, he was appointed to his current billet where he is now serving as the Executive Officer of Marine Air Control Squadron 4.
Major Joshua Langham and his wife, Karen Langham, have been married for 15 years and have 4 children: Klaira (13), Joshua Jr (11), Jacob (9), and Kaitlyn (5). He and his wife are from Southeast Texas, they enjoy traveling and competing in Ironman races.
