Sergeant Major Michael A. Gallucci

Sergeant Major Gallucci was born in Columbus, Ohio, on 28 February 1983, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September 2005. Upon completion of boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina he attended the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina, where he earned the primary MOS (0331) Machine Gunner School in February 2006.

In February 2006, Lance Corporal Gallucci was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment Weapons Company. His first deployment was to Ramadi, Iraq where he served as a Machine Gunner in a Mobile Assault Platoon. Following the deployment Lance Corporal Gallucci was promoted to the rank of Corporal and attended Advanced Machine Course in Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon graduation Corporal Gallucci was tasked with holding the billet as a vehicle commander and deployed to Gamsir, Afghanistan in2008. In 2010 Corporal Gallucci was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and conducted a rigorous workup for another deployment to Afghanistan, serving as a section leader and participated in the battle of Marjah, Afghanistan.

In 2011, Sergeant Gallucci was assigned to Battalion S-3, where he served as the Training Noncommissioned Officer and Watch Officer in Sangin/Kajaki, Afghanistan. During the Battalion's deployment, Sergeant Gallucci was tasked with reporting to Bravo Company, 2nd Platoon, to serve as a Platoon Sergeant. He was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant on 2 December 2011.

In 2012, Staff Sergeant Gallucci was assigned to the Mountain Warfare Training Center (MWTC). During Staff Sergeant Gallucci's tour at MWTC he served as a Team Leader within the Unit Training Section for six months before being assigned to the Mountain Leader Cadre. Staff Sergeant Gallucci also ran two Instructor Qualification Courses before being assigned to the Unit Training Section as the Chief Instructor. During this tour he also had the opportunity to serve with British Royal Marines in Switzerland in an exercise titled ICEFLIP. This exercise consisted of a multi-national force that develops and hones mountain leader skills.

In August 2015, Staff Sergeant Gallucci checked back into the 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, and served as a Platoon Sergeant in Alpha Company. During this time, he was deployed on the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Wasp. Upon completion of the deployment he was selected to rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

In 2017, Gunnery Sergeant Gallucci checked into the Staff Noncommissioned Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Gunnery Sergeant Gallucci served as a Faculty Advisor and the SNCOIC for Career School during his tour at the Academy. During this assignment hewas awarded the Dr. Elihu Rose Award for teaching excellence.

In August 2020, Gunnery Sergeant Gallucci arrived in Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the Current Operations Chief at the 4th Marine Regiment before being selected to the rank of First Sergeant. In February 2021, First Sergeant Gallucci reported to 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, where is served the Bravo Company Marines for one year and Headquarters and Service Company during the final year of the assignment.

First Sergeant Gallucci was selected to attend the Army Sergeant Major Academy in August 2023 and graduated the course in June 2024. First Sergeant Gallucci was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major on 6 June 2024 and reported back to Okinawa, Japan. Sergeant Major Gallucci currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of Marine Air Control Squadron 4.

His personal awards include the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with "V" device, with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award.

SgtMaj Gallucci is married to his wife Linda and they have three children Rawley, Ava, and Aubree.
