Major Morris hails from the foothills of Northern California.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 15 March 2004.  After graduating from MCRD San Diego and MCT he completed the Basic Stinger Gunner’s Course in December 2004.  He reported to 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense (LAAD) Battalion (Bn) Cherry Point, NC in January 2005 and subsequently deployed with 2nd LAAD January 2005 to Al Asad Air Base Iraq as an Assistant Gunner supporting OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.  Major Morris deployed again with 2nd LAAD in January 2007 to Al Asad Air Base Iraq where he served as a Gunner, Driver and Vehicle Commander supporting OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.  In 2008, he was accepted into the Enlisted Commissioning Program.  He reported to Officer Candidate School in September of 2008, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on 12 December 2008 and completed The Basic School in September 2009.  Major Morris was initially assigned to 2nd LAAD Bn where he completed the LAAD Officers course as well as the LAAD Enhancement Training Instructor Course.

In 2010, he was assigned to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 28 (MTACS-28), Cherry Point, NC where he served in many roles including: LAAD Liaison Officer, Classified Materiel Control Custodian, Close Battle Coordinator, Senior Air Coordinator, Assistant Security Manager, and Weapons and Tactics Training Program Officer.  During his time with MTACS-28 he deployed twice to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan as part of II Marine Aircraft Wing (FWD) working in the Tactical Air Command Center (TACC) supporting OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.  He attended the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course and was designated a WTI for Aviation Command, Control, and Communications.

In July 2014, Major Morris reported to 2nd Bn. 23 Marines, 4th Marine Division, I-I Pasadena, CA as part of the Advanced Degree Program to complete a Master of Education Degree at California State University, Northridge.  He graduated with academic distinction in June 2016, and received orders to Training and Education Command (TECOM), MAGTF Training and Education Standards Division, Quantico, VA. During his time at TECOM he served as Unit Training Management Supervisor, Formal Schools Management Supervisor, Training and Education Officer Occupational Field Manager, and a member of the Inspector General of the Marine Corps inspection team.

In June of 2019, Major Morris reported to Marine Air Control Group 18 and was subsequently assigned to 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade as the Assistant Air Officer / Air Control Officer.  In May of 2020 Major Morris was assigned to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 18 and served as the TACC Officer in Charge.  In May of 2021, Major Morris assumed duties in his current role at Marine Air Support Squadron 2 as Executive Officer.

Major Morris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Park University, a Master of Arts Degree in Management and Leadership from Liberty University, and a Master of Education Degree in Educational Psychology from California State University, Northridge.  Major Morris is a graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course.  His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Metal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
