Command Master Chief Seth A. Miles

Command Master Chief Seth Miles, a native of Payson, Illinois, reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois in July 2000 and began his career as an Intelligence Specialist.

His assignments include duty with Commander United States Fifth Fleet, Commander United States Sixth Fleet, and selection to Naval Special Warfare Development Group where he conducted multiple combat deployments in support of Joint Task Forces during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He served as the Intelligence “A” School and the Ground Intelligence “C” School Leading Chief Petty Officer at the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center. He was the Intelligence Department Leading Chief Petty Officer at Special Reconnaissance Team Two where he supported Joint Special Operations in East Africa. He served as the Intelligence Directorate Senior Enlisted Leader at Commander Undersea Surveillance and acting Command Master Chief. He was selected into the Command Senior enlisted program in 2021.

He served as the Command Master Chief of USS CONSTITUTION from 2021-2023. His next assignment was the Command Master Chief at USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG-51) where he conducted two Ballistic Missile Defense Patrols in the Eastern Mediterranean. He then supported CTF-65 as the interim Command Master Chief after the stand-up of Naval Surface Group Europe. He is currently serving as the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing Command Master Chief in Okinawa, Japan.

Miles is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 223/Green), the COB/CMC Course (Class 229), and the Command Master Chief Course-Major Command. He earned his Information Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare, Surface Warfare, and Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems designations.

His decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), Combat Action Ribbon, and various unit and campaign awards.
