Major Brittany Borders hails from San Diego, California. In 2014, she attended Officer Candidates School, subsequently earning her commission as a Second Lieutenant and attending The Basic School.
After completion of The Basic School, Second Lieutenant Borders was designated as an Aviation Supply Officer (MOS 6602). She was assigned to Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 12 and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 12 in Iwakuni, Japan. There she served in multiple divisions within the Aviation Supply Department and as the unit’s adjutant.
In 2016, First Lieutenant Borders served as the MALS detachment officer-in-charge for VMFA-225’s exercises Cope West in Manado, Indonesia and Vigilant Ace in Osan, South Korea. In 2017, she attended Weapons and Tactics Instructor’s (WTI) Advanced Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course and supported WTI 1-18 as the Assistant Aviation Supply Officer (AASO).
In 2018, First Lieutenant Borders reported to 1st Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station New Jersey to serve as the Officer Selection Officer in Jersey City where she was promoted to the rank of Captain.
After completing a successful tour on recruiting duty, she reported to MAG-29, MALS-29 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. There she served as the AASO, the Assistant Operations Officer and graduated from Expeditionary Warfare School in 2022. After the deactivation of MALS-29, Captain Borders served as the Aviation Supply Officer to the MAG-29 Commanding Officer and was promoted to the rank of Major in April 2024.
In 2024, Major Borders attended resident Command and Staff College at Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia earning a Master of Military Studies degree.
In July 2025, Major Borders reported to MAG-12, MALS-12 to serve as the Aviation Supply Officer. In June 2026 she joined the command team to serve as MALS-12's Executive Officer.
Her personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Major Borders has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University and a Master of Military Studies from Marine Corps University.
