Lieutenant Colonel Cillo is a native of Pennsylvania. He holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and psychology from Bloomsburg University, a master’s degree in business administration from Liberty University, and a master’s degree in military studies from Marine Corps University.
Lieutenant Colonel Cillo completed Officer Candidates Course Class 200 and commissioned a Second Lieutenant in March 2009. Upon completing The Basic School and Ground Supply Operations Course, he served as the Supply Officer for 3d Battalion, 11th Marines until 2012 and participated in multiple exercises to include Enhanced Mojave Viper, Desert Fire Exercise, Urban Thunder, Steel Knight, and Golden Eagle.
In 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Cillo transferred to Officer Candidates School and served as an instructor of military history. From July 2012 to July 2013, he served as aide-de-camp to the Commanding General, Education Command. Upon returning to Officer Candidates School, he served as the Supply Officer and as a Platoon Commander.
Lieutenant Colonel Cillo attended resident Expeditionary Warfare School from 2014 to 2015, and upon graduating he transferred to 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Command Element Supply Officer. During the unit’s deployment, he participated in multiple exercises and operations to include African Sea Lion, Noble Shirley, Sea Breeze, and Operation ODYSSEY LIGHTNING.
In 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Cillo checked into 1st Supply Battalion as the Operations Officer and completed a Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office inspection and Exercise Steel Knight 17. In November 2017, he joined Task Force Lion 18.2 as the Assistant Logistics Officer and Supply Officer and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.
Upon returning to 1st Supply Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Cillo served as H&S Company Commander and Battalion Executive Officer and completed Exercise Pacific Blitz 19.
Lieutenant Colonel Cillo attended resident Marine Corps Command and Staff College from 2019 to 2020. Upon graduating, he checked into Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group where he served as a Logistics Instructor, Faculty Advisor for Advanced Expeditionary Logistics Operations Course, and Group Operations Officer. He checked into 1st Marine Air Wing in July 2023 and served as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics until 2026.
Lieutenant Colonel Cillo is married with two children. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal (second award). He was the recipient of The Navy & Marine Corps Association Leadership Award in 2012.
