Major Nathan M. Uebelhart

Major Uebelhart is a native of King City, California. He attended Officer Candidate’s School through the Platoon Leader’s Course during the summers of 2009 and 2011. He graduated from California State University, Fresno with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in August 2012. He executed orders to The Basic School in October 2013 as a student with Alpha Company Class 1-14. He attended his MOS school in Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, NC from May to October 2014 earning the MOS of 1302 Combat Engineer Officer. He executed orders to Combat Assault Battalion, 3D Marine Division in Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan in October 2014.

First Lieutenant Uebelhart served as the Platoon Commander for First Platoon, Combat Engineer Company, where he executed Task Force Iron Fist – Fuji in mainland Japan from January through February 2015, bilateral exercise Balikatan in April 2015 in the Philippines while attached to V3/3, and Korean Military Exchange Program in South Korea while attached to V3/2 from June to August 2015. First Lieutenant Uebelhart and his platoon then deployed on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit from October 2015 to May 2016 while attached to Battalion Landing Team 1/5. First Lieutenant Uebelhart then deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan as an individual augment in support of Operation RESOLUTE SUPPORT and Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL from September 2016 through March 2017, serving on the Combined Joint Current Operations staff in the theatre Combined Joint Operations Center (CJ33). First Lieutenant Uebelhart returned to Okinawa, Japan, where he was promoted to Captain and served as the Assistant Operations Officer for Combat Assault Battalion.

In October 2017, Captain Uebelhart was assigned to 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, Parris Island, South Carolina where he served as a Series Commander in Companies H and F, and as the Assistant Operations Officer for Recruit Training Regiment.

In September 2020, Captain Uebelhart was then assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion in Camp Pendleton, California. He served as the Battalion S-4 OIC from September through December 2020, and as the Company Commander for Engineer Support Company from December 2020 to July 2022, providing training, personnel, and engineer support to exercises and deployments across I MEF.

In July 2022, Captain Uebelhart executed orders to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia where he was promoted to Major and served as the Section Head of the Individual Skills / Small Unit Tactics Group within Warfighting Instructor Group bullpen. Major Uebelhart went on to serve as the Company Commander for Company C Basic Officer Course Class 3-23, and Company D Basic Officer Course Class 4-24. He then served as the Battalion Executive Officer for Combat Instructor Battalion, The Basic School.

In June 2025 Major Uebelhart executed orders to Marine Wing Support Squadron 174 aboard Kaneohe Bay, HI, where he is currently serving as the Squadron Executive Officer.
