Sergeant Major Andrew B. Radford

Sergeant Major Radford enlisted in the Marine Corps on 20 November 2002 and completed recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, SC in February 2003 and was assigned to Camp Geiger, NC for Marine Combat Training followed by Personnel Administration School at Camp Johnson, NC as an Admin Clerk (0151).
 
In May 2003, Private First Class Radford reported to Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC and served as an admin clerk. In August 2003, he received orders to 2d Battalion 8th Marines, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC. During his tour with 2d Battalion 8th Marines, Private First Class Radford deployed to Afghanistan in 2003, followed by a deployment with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2005, and then deployed to Iraq in 2006.  He served as the Admin Clerk and Assistant Admin Chief.  While serving with 2d Battalion 8th Marines, he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal and promoted to Sergeant.
 
In May 2007, Sergeant Radford reported to Marine Security Guard School in Quantico, VA for training as a Marine Security Guard (8156).  After graduating, Sergeant Radford was assigned to Marine Security Guard Detachment Lagos, Nigeria. After his tour in Lagos  he reported to Managua, Nicaragua as the Assistant Detachment Commander and was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant.  After his tour in Managua, he reported to Bogota, Colombia as the Assistant Detachment Commander.   
 
In June 2010, Staff Sergeant Radford reported Casualty Branch, Marine and Family Program Division.  During his tour with Casualty Branch he served as the Admin Chief, Assistant Operations Chief and Family Programs Division's Platoon Sergeant. He attended the Advanced Administrative Specialist Course at Camp Johnson, NC and graduated as the honor graduate.  He also attended the Advanced Course in Quantico, VA and was on the Director's Honor Roll.  During his tour with Casualty he earned his Associates and Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with honors, and promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.
 
In October 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Radford reported to Marine Security Guard School to attend the Detachment Commander course.  Upon graduating, he was assigned to Marine Security Guard Detachment Tashkent, Uzbekistan.  In June 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Radford reported to Marine Security Guard Detachment Algiers, Algeria and was frocked to First Sergeant on 1 June 2017.  
 
In June 2017, First Sergeant Radford reported to 1st Battalion 10th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC as Charlie Battery First Sergeant.  During his tour with 1st Battalion 10th Marine Regiment he deployed on the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan.  
 
In May 2019, First Sergeant Radford reported to Marine Forces Special Operations Command. During his tour he served with 3d Marine Raider Support Battalion as the Intelligence Company First Sergeant, 2d Marine Raider Battalion Headquarters First Sergeant and Sergeant Major, and 3d Marine Raider Battalion Headquarters First Sergeant.  While First Radford served with 3d Marine Raider Battalion, he attended the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy and was a honor graduate. First Sergeant Radford was frocked to Sergeant Major on 30 January 2022.
 
In February 2022, Sergeant Major Radford assumed the duties as the Marine Unmanned Vehicle Squadron 3 Sergeant Major.
 
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (w/two gold stars in lieu of third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (w/two gold stars in lieu of third award), Combat Action Ribbon, and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (w/bronze star in lieu of second award).
