Lieutenant Colonel Allan Moyer was born in Blackfoot, Idaho. He attended and received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in 2009. Upon graduation from The Basic School and Logistics Officers Course, he was assigned to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 38 and served as the Assistant Logistics Officer from February 2010 to June 2011. In July 2011, LtCol Moyer reported to Headquarters Battalion, First Marine Division. He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and, while at the battalion, served as a Logistics Officer and Company Executive Officer.
In April of 2013, LtCol Moyer reported for duty as the Logistics Officer for Camp Mujuk, Republic of Korea. He was involved in the bilateral training and logistics support of Marine Corps units in the Pohang area. After a year on the Korean peninsula, LtCol Moyer reported to Recruiting Station Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and served as the Executive Officer from 2014-2017. Following his tour on recruiting duty, he was assigned to Expeditionary Warfare School. Upon graduation, LtCol Moyer reported to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Command Element to serve as the Assistant Logistics Officer in support of Western Pacific Deployment 19-2. Following deployment, LtCol Moyer transferred to Combat Logistics Battalion 13, where he served as the Operations Officer. From 2021-2024, He was assigned to Manpower Management Officer Assignments and was the Combat Service Support Major’s Monitor and Center Desk. In July 2024, he was assigned as the 3d Sustainment Group Executive Officer, and in May 2025 he assumed command of Marine Wing Support Squadron 172.
LtCol Moyer holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Arts in Transportation and Logistics Management. He is a graduate of resident Expeditionary Warfare School and Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Operations Course. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of fifth award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
