Sergeant Major Enrique De Anda was born in Salinas, California. He entered recruit training on 11 August 1997 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Following graduation from Marine Combat Training in Camp Pendleton, California, he attended Financial Management School in Camp Johnson, North Carolina, where he was assigned the military occupational specialty 3432.
In February 1998, he was promoted to Private First Class and reported to Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California, where he served as a travel clerk. In September 1998, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and transferred to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. In February of 2000, he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal.
In April 2004, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In August of 2008, Sergeant De Anda reported to Marine Forces Europe, Stuttgart, Germany, where he served as a Travel Auditor.
In September 2009, Sergeant De Anda lateral moved into the military occupation specialty of 0431, Embarkation Specialist, and received orders to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he served as the Embarkation Chief for Marine Wing Support Group 27 and Marine Wing Support Squadron 274/272. In February 2010, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Upon return in November 2010, he reported to the Weapons Field Training Battalion, where he served as a Combat Marksmanship Coach, Combat Marksmanship Trainer, and Platoon Sergeant for Range Company.
In October 2012, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and reported to Drill Instructor School, Class 4-14, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. During this tour, he held the billets of Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor with Bravo Company, First Recruit Training Battalion. In April 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
In September 2017, Gunnery Sergeant De Anda reported to 1st Radio Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as the Logistics Chief. April 2018, he was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and reported to Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California. During this time, First Sergeant De Anda served as Company First Sergeant with Headquarters Company. He also served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor upon retirement of the Base Sergeant Major.
In May 2021, First Sergeant De Anda was assigned to 3d Maintenance Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the Regional Maintenance Operations Company First Sergeant. December 2022, he was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 4, 3d Marine Logistics Group.
In December 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and reported to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265, MAG 36, MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, where he serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
Sergeant Major De Anda's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (silver star in lieu of sixth award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 gold star in lieu of fourth award).
