Major Matthew F. Glisson

Matt Glisson was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps in 2008 via the OCC program. A ground supply officer, he has served in various billets across the MAGTF including the 1st Marine Logistics Group, 4th Marine Division, the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, and DC I&L.

Upon graduating Ground Supply Officer’s Course, 2ndLt Glisson was assigned as the 1st Supply Battalion Initial Issue and Provisioning Officer-in-Charge where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as part of the 10.2 rotation.

Upon returning from deployment, 1stLt Glisson was selected as the Aide to the 1st Marine Logistics Group Commanding General. During this assignment, 1stLt Glisson deployed again in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as part of the 12.1 rotation.

After completing his tour as the Aide, 1stLt Glisson reported to 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines where he served as the Headquarters & Service Company Inspector-Instructor and Supply/S-4 Officer. While assigned to 2/25, Capt Glisson participated in African Lion 2015 where he served as the MAGTF RO in support of the exercise MPF off-load. During this tour, Capt Glisson was selected to attend the United States Army Logistics Captain Career Course.

After graduation, Capt Glisson was assigned to the 2nd MAW G-4 where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to CJTF-HOA. During this tour, Capt Glisson was assigned to the CJTF-HOA J-9 and subsequently to the CJTF-HOA J-4 where he was transferred to the Military Coordination Cell in Mogadishu, Somalia to coordinate logistical support to DoD, interagency, and multinational partners. Upon return, Capt Glisson was assigned as the 2nd MAW G-4 Assistant Operations Officer.

Upon completing his tour with 2nd MAW, Maj Glisson was assigned to DC I&L, LP, LPS-1 as a Ground Supply Officer. His notable achievements during his tour at DC I&L include revising MCO 4400.201, Volume 3, coordinating the FY20 Ground Supply Symposium, and serving as the lead action officer for the first semi-annual USMC Individual Clothing and Combat Equipment (ICCE) Integrated Product Team to develop holistic supply chain solutions to address USMC wide ICCE shortages. During this tour he was selected to attend the Marine Corps Command and Staff Resident program.

Following completion of Marine Corps Command and Staff, he was assigned as the 3d MLG G-4 Sustainment Officer, where he fulfilled various roles to include serving as the 3d MLG AC/S G-4 and Deputy AC/S G-4. After serving in the 3d MLG G-4, he assumed command as the Regional Supply Operations Company Commander, where he oversaw Ammunition, Supply, and Medical Logistics Companies as part of Force Design 2030 experimentation efforts in the First Island Chain. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of their training and operational employment. After the disbandment of Regional Supply Operations Company, he filled the role of Supply Company Commander.

His personal military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

Maj Glisson is married to the former Christina Chilleme of Huntington Beach, CA and have twin five-year-old girls, Harper and Ruby. He resides in Okinawa, Japan and his interests include lifting, shooting, and the outdoors.
