Major William J. Frazier, a native of Texas, commissioned from the United States Naval Academy in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. After graduating from The Basic School in 2014, Second Lieutenant Frazier reported to Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton, Florida and attended the Aviation Maintenance Officer course.
In 2014, Second Lieutenant Frazier checked in to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26 in New River, North Carolina. From June 2014 through November 2014, he served as the Ground Support Equipment Officer in Charge.
In November 2014, he reported to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 (VMM-261) “Raging Bulls” where he served as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer (AAMO). He was promoted to First Lieutenant in February 2015 and deployed with VMM-261 for SPMAGTF-CR-AFRICA 15.2. Upon return from deployment, he also served as the Maintenance Material Control Officer (MMCO).
In July 2017, First Lieutenant Frazier reported to Aviation Maintenance Squadron 1 (AMS-1) in Pensacola, Florida. He served as the Officer in Charge for several Naval Aviation schoolhouses and was promoted to Captain in January 2018. In June 2019, Captain Frazier assumed the duties as the Executive Officer of AMS-1.
In May 2020, Captain Frazier was selected for Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. While attending, he graduated from the Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program and non-resident Joint Professional Military Education Phase I (Command and Staff) with the Naval War College. In September 2022, he earned his Master of Science in Computer Science and was subsequently assigned to Program Executive Office (PEO) Digital and Enterprise Services, Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) in Quantico, Virginia.
In May 2023, Captain Frazier deployed in support of Operation ENDURING SENTINEL and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, Special Operations Joint Task Force-Central (SOJTF-C), Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, where he served as a Battle Captain in the Joint Operations Center. In June 2023 he was promoted to Major and subsequently served as the Current Operations Chief (J33), SOJTF-C to December 2023.
In December 2023, Major Frazier returned to PEO Digital and Enterprise Services where he served as an Integrated Product Team Lead and Marine Deputy Portfolio Manager within the Platform Application Services Portfolio. In April 2025, he graduated from the Advanced Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course during Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 2-25.
In June 2025, Major Frazier assumed his current billet as the Executive Officer of MALS-36 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma in Okinawa, Japan.
Major Frazier’s personal decorations include the Joint Meritorious Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star.
