Senior Chief Joseph E. Boring

Senior Chief Boring was born in Riverside, California, and embarked on his Navy career in August 2003. After completing basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, in October 2003, he proceeded to Aviation Ordnanceman "A" School in Pensacola, Florida. Upon graduation, he received orders to the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT in Norfolk, Virginia.

Upon reporting to the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT, he was assigned to the G-4 Division as a weapons elevator maintenance technician. Demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication, he was promoted to Third Class Petty In 2006, he earned both his Enlisted Aviation and Surface Warfare Specialist qualifications and advanced to Petty Officer Second Class in 2008.

In 2009, he received orders to the Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) for Aviation Ordnanceman "A" School Instructor Duty in Pensacola, Florida. During his tenure at NATTC, he achieved the designation of Master Training Specialist and instructed 16 six-week classes, successfully teaching, and graduating 416 students. He was promoted to First Class Petty Officer in 2011.

He reported to the USS RONALD REAGAN in San Diego, California, in February 2012. There, he served as the Leading Petty Officer for the G-1 Division, leading 71 Sailors in ordnance handling evolutions and the maintenance of Armament Weapons Support Equipment and flight deck operations. He was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2015, where he served as the G-3 Division's Production Chief Petty Officer during the Navy's first-ever three-carrier hull swap between the USS RONALD REAGAN, USS GEORGE WASHINGTON, and USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT.

In July 2017, he reported to the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center in Fallon, Nevada, as the Ordnance Work Center Leading Chief Petty Officer. He led 43 Sailors in loading and downloading conventional ordnance and managing maintenance demands of 53 aircraft, including F-18, F-16, and MH-60, in support of TOPGUN, SEAWOLF, and HAVOC training operations.

In September 2020, he reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 in Guam. Upon arrival, he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer and assigned as the Ordnance Chief and eventually the Command Senior Enlisted Leader. He also led a three-month detachment aboard the USS J. P. MARTHA and the USS GREEN BAY, as well as a six-month detachment aboard the USS AMERICA.

In September 2023, Senior Chief Boring reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24 in Kailua, Hawaii, to serve as the Navy Senior Enlisted Leader.
