Sergeant Major Leonel Llorens

Sergeant Major Llorens was recruited out of RSS San Juan, San Juan, PR, in January 2008.  He completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC, in May 2008 where he was then transferred for Marine Combat Training in Camp Lejeune, NC. In June 2008, First Sergeant Llorens was transferred to Bravo Company, Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School, Twentynine Palms, CA. for Field Radio Operators Course. Upon completion of the Communications School, he was assigned to 1st Battalion 6th Marines, Camp Lejeune, NC. where he served as Radio Operator for Head Quarters Company. During this tour, he participated in Operation Enduring Freedom.

In 2012, he was transferred to Naval Station Yorktown, in Virginia for duty with Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Company. From June 2012 until March 2015, where he served as Radio Operator and Radio Supervisor for Bravo Company.

In March 2015, he was transferred to The Basic Recruiter School in San Diego, CA. Upon completion, Sergeant Major Llorens was assigned to 6th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale, Recruiting Sub-Station San Juan in Puerto Rico where he served as Canvassing Recruiter. In May 2017, he was transferred to Recruiting Sub-Station Ponce, Puerto Rico where he served as the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charged for the station. During this time Sergeant Major Llorens' station received the award for Recruiting Station of the Year for FY17 and FY18. On June 2018, Sergeant Major Llorens was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Sergeant Major Llorens' dedication made him recipient of the Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale Commanding Officer Leadership Award for FY17 and the 6th Marine Corps District and Recruiting Station Station Commander of the Year for FY18.

In July 2019, Sergeant Major Llorens was transferred to 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Command Element, I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), to serve as the Transmission Chief. During this tour, he participated in Operation Inherent Resolve.

In January 2022, he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and reported to Reconnaissance Training Company, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry West.
 
In August 2024, he was transferred to 3d Landing Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3d Marine Logistics Group (FMF), where he served as the Company First Sergeant.
 
In June 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and reported to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265, Marine Group 36, MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan where he currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted.

Sergeant Major Llorens's personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with gold star in lieu of 5th award) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with gold star in lieu of 3d award), and Combat Action Ribbon.
