U.S. Marines with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 465 offload and rebuild a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter on MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Mar. 12, 2021. The CH-53E was transferred from Hawaii to Okinawa in support of Force Design 2030. The CH-53E was disassembled by HMH-463 in Hawaii to accommodate transport in a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft with the Alaska Air National Guard. After arriving at MCAS Futenma, HMH-465 rebuilt the aircraft and is now flying the CH-53E in support of III Marine Expeditionary Force operations and exercises. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 conducts hoist training with 1st Special Forces Group-Airborne, U.S. Army, off the coast of Kin Blue Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 5, 2019. This training was conducted to increase efficiency while conducting hoist and rescue missions over the open water.
