U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Michael Blua, an aircraft maintenance officer, and Lt. Zachary S. Buker, an adjutant officer, both with 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, speak about their experiences with the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Program (MECEP) on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, May 18, 2023. The MECEP program gives the opportunity for enlisted Marines to transition to the commissioned ranks and advance their career, the selection process for these programs is extremely competitive and requires a process of indoctrination completely different from the enlisted mindset.
