U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Enrique Puentes Jr. sprays water on a Japanese Decontamination Truck with a Japanese Ground Self-Defense member during a simulated joint study with the JGSDF at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma on July 13, 2017. The Marines and JGSDF soldiers were integrated into one force combining U.S. and Japanese equipment while utilizing both countries’ methods of decontamination. Puentes, a native of Tampa, Florida, is a CBRN defense specialist with Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1, and the JGSDF soldier is with 15th Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Defense Unit (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
