This [past]weekend VMFA-121 sent two aircraft and 20 maintainers to the Misawa Air Fest. This was an outstanding opportunity to continue to expand our ability to deploy the F-35 in theater for small training detachments, to engage with Japanese citizens, foster relationships with Navy and USAF units that we will fight with in the future, and give our Marines an opportunity to see more of Japan and interact with their counterparts in other services.
