LtCol Sanchez was born on 22 January 1980 in Salinas, California, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September 1998. His enlisted assignments include Disbursing Technician with 3d Force Service Support Group, Marine Security Guard at U.S. embassies in Moscow, Russia and Bangkok, Thailand, and Weather Forecaster with Marine Wing Support Squadrons 171 and 271. He reached the rank of staff sergeant prior to being accepted into the Enlisted Commissioning Program in Dec 2006.
After completing Officer Candidate School, The Basic School, and Logistics Operations School, 2ndLt Sanchez reported to 9th Engineer Support Battalion in February 2008, where he served as a Motor Transport Platoon Commander and Battalion S-4 Officer. He completed two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in 2008 and 2010, respectively.
In January 2011, 1stLt Sanchez executed orders to 3d Marine Division, where he assumed duties as the Truck Company Commander. After two years in command, Capt Sanchez was reassigned as the Division Headquarters S-4 Officer in February 2013. He later deployed as a joint individual augment to the Logistics Directorate, J4, U.S. Forces Afghanistan from September 2013 to April 2014, where he served as the Coalition Support Chief. Upon returning from Afghanistan, he executed orders to the USMC Office of Legislative Affairs in Washington, DC.
In September 2014, Capt Sanchez began training as a Defense Fellow to the 112th U.S. Congress. He served as a Military Liaison Assistant to Congressman John Kline from Minnesota’s 2nd District. Upon completion of the congressional fellowship, Capt Sanchez reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 3 in February 2015, where he served as the Regimental S-4 and S-3 Officer.
In July 2019, Maj Sanchez reported to the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, where he earned a Master of Military Studies degree. In June 2020, he executed orders to The Basic School for duties as the Logistics Director. In December 2021, Maj Sanchez was selected for promotion to LtCol and reassigned to Training Command for duties as the Assistant Chief of Staff G-4.
In June 2022, LtCol Sanchez reported to Headquarters, United States Forces Korea for duties as the Plans and Exercise Branch Chief under the Logistics Directorate, J4. Following completion of his joint tour in June 2024, LtCol Sanchez reported to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Korea to serve as the Assistant Chief of Staff G-4.
In June 2025, LtCol Sanchez reported to Marine Aircraft Group 12 for duties as the executive officer. He assumed command of Marine Wing Support Squadron 171 on 13 November 2025.
LtCol Sanchez is a joint qualified officer and a graduate of the Basic Airborne School, Expeditionary Warfighting School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Naval Command and Staff College, Defense Strategy Course, Joint and Combined Warfighting School, and Air War College.
