Major Elizabeth A. Volk graduated from Texas A&M University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She attended Platoon Leaders Course in the summer of 2011. Upon graduation and commissioning she attended The Basic School (TBS), and Combat Engineer Officer Course (CEOC) in 2013 and 2014, she was assigned the military occupational specialty of 1302, Combat Engineer Officer.
In 2013 Second Lieutenant Volk reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 26, Combat Logistics Regiment 27 in Camp Lejeune, NC where she served as the Battalion Adjutant, Maintenance Management Officer and Engineer Detachment Officer-in-Charge. She later moved to Combat Logistics Regiment 27 where she served as the Regimental Future Operations Officer and the Service Company Executive Officer.
In June 2016, First Lieutenant Volk received orders to 9th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB) in Okinawa, Japan, where she served as the Executive Officer for Engineer Support Company. Upon promotion to Captain she served as Company Commander for Engineer Company A as well as the Battalion S-4 Officer. During her time with 9th ESB Captain Volk deployed off island multiple times to South Korea and the Philippines in support of multi-national exercises. Captain Volk completed Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) Blended Seminar Program in 2018.
In June 2019 Captain Volk received orders and transferred to the School of Infantry West in Camp Pendleton, CA. She served as Headquarters and Support Battalion Operations Officer and Headquarters and Service Company Commander. In May 2022 Captain Volk completed the Command and Staff Distance Education Program.
In July 2022 Captain Volk was promoted to her current rank, Major. Major Volk then executed PCA orders to 1st Marine Division where she served as the Division Engineer Officer as part of the G-3 Current Operations section. She participated in several Division training events including Steel Knight.
In July 2023 Major Volk received orders to Marine Corps Forces Korea where she served as the Deputy AC/S G-4 and Force Engineer Officer. Coordinating host nation construction projects for the USMC as well as planning operational level logistics. She assisted in planning and execution of multiple JCS Tier 1 command post exercises. In April 2025, Major Volk graduated from Weapons and Tactic's Instructor Course in Yuma, Arizona as an Aviation Ground Support student.
In June 2025, Major Volk transferred to Marine Wing Support Squandron 171, in Iwakuni, Japan. She was assigned as the Operations Officer, and in November 2025 was assigned to her current position of Executive Officer.
In December 2025, Major Volk graduated from Marshall University with a Master's of Arts in Leadership. Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of third award) and the Outstanding Military Volunteer Award.
