SgtMaj Clement C. Pearson

Sergeant Major Pearson reported to MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina in December 1991 for recruit training and upon graduation, was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.  Upon completion of training at School of Infantry-East (SOI-E) he was assigned as an Infantryman 0311 to Company L, 3d, Battalion, 2nd Marines in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In December 1992, he deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program (UDP) and served in Operation Team Spirit. In June 1994 he deployed with BLT 3/2, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Operation Restore Hope and Provide Promise.  In July 1995 he deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of JTF-160 for Operation Sea Signal.

In February 1996, he reported to 1st Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Company in Norfolk, Virginia. He was assigned as a squad leader for the close-quarter battle and designated marksmen sections.  

In August 1998, he reported to Company F, 2nd Battalion 3d Marines, 3d Marine Division in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii to serve as a Platoon Sergeant.  In November 2000 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and assigned as the machinegun section leader for with Weapons Platoon. He deployed during two UDP’s, participating in Korea and Thailand for KITP and Cobra Gold 1999.  He attended Small Arms Weapons Instructor Course and Martial Arts Instructor Trainer School.  

In October 2001, he reported to Drill Instructor School in MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina.  He reported to Company M, 3d Battalion.  He served as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor.

In October 2003, he reported to Company K, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, in Twenty-nine Palms, California, as Weapons Platoon Sergeant and Company Gunnery Sergeant.  In December 2003 he deployed on UDP and subsequently, Operation Iraqi Freedom II, for combat operations in Haditha.  In April 2004 he supported combat operations in Fallujah for Operation Vigilant Response. In January 2005 he deployed to Fallujah, Iraq for combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III and security operations for the first Iraqi elections. He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in November 2005.

In January 2006, he reported to Drill Instructor School in MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina.  Upon Completion of school he reported to Company M, 3d Battalion.  During his tour he served as a Senior Drill Instructor, Series GySgt, Instructor at Drill Instructor School and Regimental Drillmaster. He was selected to the rank of First Sergeant in November 2008.  In March 2009, he reported to 3d Battalion, 10th Marines and served as a First Sergeant for Battery K, Battery I, and Headquarters Battery.  He deployed in November 2009 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and combat operations in the Helmand Province.
In October 2011, he reported to Infantry Training Battalion, SOI-E and served as the First Sergeant for Company E.   In April 2014, he was reassigned as the First Sergeant for Marine Combat Instructor School, SOI-E.  He was selected to the rank of Sergeant Major in November 2015.

In April 2016, Sergeant Major Pearson reported to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa Japan for duty as the Squadron Sergeant Major and participated in Exercise Cobra Gold in February 2017.

In January 2018, Sergeant Major Pearson assumed the post of Squadron Sergeant Major for Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing.

Sergeant Major Pearson's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat distinguishing device (gold star in lieu of fifth award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (gold star in lieu of second award), and the Combat Action Ribbon.
