Maj Anthony T. Hearrean
Major Hearrean currently serves as the Executive Officer, Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152) aboard MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
Major Hearrean was born on 23 May 1984 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps through the PLC Air program in June 2006, having completed his undergraduate education in Economics at Eastern Washington University (WA). Following The Basic School, he graduated from flight school earning his Gold Aviator Wings in August 2009. Upon designation, he was assigned to MCAS Cherry Point, NC for initial KC-130J Hercules training.
In September 2010, Major Hearrean was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152) at MCAS Futenma, JP and served as the Adjutant, Flight Duty Officer, Airframes OIC, and Powerline OIC. During this tour, he deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Operation TOMODACHI, exercise Talisman Saber, and exercise Lava Viper.
In July 2013, he was assigned to CNATTU Detachment Little Rock, Arkansas as the OIC. During this tour, he oversaw the successful C-school and initial accession training of future KC-130J mechanics and loadmasters. Major Hearrean also completed his Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University in May 2015.
In July of 2015, Major Hearrean was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352 (VMGR-352). While at the Raiders he graduated as a Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) from MAWTS-1 and served as the Aircrew Training Officer, Detachment Operations Officer during a deployment to Kuwait in support of SPMAGTF-CR-CC, and Assistant Aviation Maintenance Officer.
In 2018, Major Hearrean attended and completed Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA.
Ordered to Iwakuni, Japan in June 2019, Major Hearrean served as Assistant Operations Officer and Operations Officer, prior to assuming duties as the Executive Officer (XO).
Major Hearrean’s personal decorations include the Air Medal (7), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
