VMGR-153 Flight Engineer Trains His Marines

Jacob Carrig, KC-130J Flight Engineer with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 153, Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, mentors junior Marines on basic KC-130J systems knowledge and walks them through a training progression from loadmaster to flight engineer at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, Oct. 11, 2023. Loadmasters are responsible for observing safety for aerial refueling evolutions, staging and loading of cargo and passengers aboard tactical transport aircraft, computing weight and balance, determining cargo restraint criteria, applying cargo restraints, transporting hazardous material aboard military aircraft, conducting aerial delivery of passengers and cargo, and conducting rapid ground refueling.
